Jyotish Learning

One should note some points before learning jyotish.
Jyotish and all secrate things are governed by 8th house.
When you perform activities related to some house,that house becomes stronger. So when you do things related to jyotish,8th house becomes stronger.

You know that 8th is a bad house and it can create troubles.
Now 8th is marak for 2nd and 7th house.
So if these houses are weak,strong 8th house can destroy them.
You can check your shadbal and sarvashtakvarg for strength of these houses. Once you decide to learn jyotish,you should take care to make these houses stronger else it can result in troubles.

Similarly check the house for which 8th is Badhak.
You would like to make that house strong too.For char,sthir and dwiswabhav Lagn,10th,2nd and 12th houses are obstructed by 8th house. Similarly you can evaluate virodh-Argala caused by 8th house on 9th,11th,6th house.A strong 8th house will oppose results of these houses. If these results are good, you have to make them stronger.

All these things can be strengthened by
(1)performing activities related to relevent house.
(2)associating and pleasing persons connected to relevent planet.
(3)using objects/colours connected to relevent sign.

This is the reason why elders prohibit learning of these things.
Many times we can not conclude whether the results are good or bad.
In such cases note that strong will give good results and weak will
give bad results.

For example 8th is marak for 7th house when 7th is weak.
If 7th is strong,8th will provide resources by causing Dhan-Argala.Similarly you can also find houses which will give stronger results.If you find that 6th/12th are becoming strong,you may need to take care.

Always remember:
Samarath ko nahi dosh gosai
OR
Pawan jagawat aag ko deepahi det bujhahi
It means that wind will extinguish lamp but will increase fire.
Because lamp is small/weak while fire is big/strong.
