Din(daily) Dasha

Din(daily) Dasha is very simple and follows sequence of Vinshottary dasha. It works well in conjunction with birth vinshottary dasha when there is resonance between them.

Calculation:
Add Tithi,weekday,Nakshatr ruling at the required time of day.
To this add number of letters in name(Use rules similar to Mantras).
Divide by 9 and note the remainder. If 0 then take 9.Starting from 1,
Dasha is of Ravi,Chandr,Kuj,Rahu,Guru,Shani,Budh,Ketu,Shukr respectively.

This dasha will change when weekday or Tithi or Nakshatr will change.
On any day normally 3 dashas will run for all natives. while Tithi,
weekday and Nakshatr are same for all world,number of letters in name are
different for different persons.So this dasha is not very effective for
individual predictions on its own but when it combines with other dashas
in native's chart,it gives remarkable results.For mundane events/charts
where a lot of people have similar experiences,it can be effectively used.

Example:
Date 19-8-2005(Raksha-Bandhan)
Here Weekday is Friday(6),
Tithi is Poornima(15),
Nakshatr is Shravan(22)
Name is Anil(3 letters).
Adding all we get 46.
Dividing by 9 gives remainder 1.
So Din dasha is of Ravi.

Now at 8:22,Nakshatr changes to Dhanishtha.
So Dasha will change to Chandr.

In night,Pritipada starts at 23:25.
So dasha again changes to Mangal.

Native will be running Rahu-Ravi-Guru Vinshottary as per birth chart.
So Ravi din-dasha will be more important then chandr and Mangal.
If Ravi is placed in good/bad houses,it will give good/bad results.
In this chart, it will be in 9th from moon(dhanu) on that day.
Sun is not good in 9th from moon.It is in own sign.
So it is normal period from sunrise to 8:22.
Similarly we can analyse Chandr/Mangal dashas also.

This remainder when applied to Dasha Pravesh/Rashi Pravesh charts,
We get knowledge of Dasha/transit results as given below.
They are known as Dasha vahan/Shani vahan also.
If 2,3,6,8,9 are left,it is good.If 1,4,5,7 are left,it is bad.

You can also check transit of dasha planet joining benefic/
malefic in transit or birth-chart to find out good/bad period.

Verify it on natal and mundane events yourself!

This is a very simple and quick method to find the nature of
experiences/events without elaborate calculations.

Some Remedial Measures

Sun is health-Karak,digestive fire is strong and it can give good health.In order to improve digestion,in India,people use Tambool(Pan).So eating Pan(betal leaf) can remove problems caused by Sun. For this reason,it is said that before going out on Sunday,person should eat Pan to ensure good results.Guru(intelligence) in Kark(4th-education) can indicate intelligent student.So now you know why milk(Kark) is important for buddhi(Guru).Another example can be Shukr in Meen. We know that Meen is Jal-Rashi and indicates feet. 12th house shows bed-pleasures too. So if a person washes his feet before going to bed,he gets good sleep.These are just small examples of remedial measures. So next time when you will see some remedy from Lal-Kitab,think on these lines. There is excellent use of Rashi-Bhav-Grah karakatwas in those remedies.They indicate Desh -Kal -Patr respectively. While gems can make a planet strong,these remedies can force a planet to give results of some other house which may not be joined/aspected by planet.According to tradition,various Deities are worshiped for various purposes.This is independent of chart. For example, in order to get rid of serious diseasesMaha-Mrityunjay-Jap is commonly used. It is prescribed even without any chart etc. just on the basis of problems. This is similar to giving painkiller like paracetamol for headach and it works.Reason is hidden in Deities of planets. Sun is Karak for first house(health)and its Deity is Lord Shiv.So worship of Lord Shiv makes Sun Strong and all houses for which Sun is Karak,will improve.Similarly, houses owned,joined,aspected by Sun will also improve but that needs to be checked in chart. Now we can use chart information to boost results.While GOD needs only a prayer from the bottom of your heart,based on placement of Sun(Bhav-Karak)we can find out the Tatwa eg. in watery sign,pour water on Lord-Shiv.Similarly we can find objects/materials shown byplanets/sign/nakshatr from Brihat-Jatak etc. and use then in worship of Lord Shiv.Sun being karak for 10th house(job),worship of Lord-Shiv is recommended for solving such problems.Since Akash Tatwa(sound-Mantra) is present in all signs,Mantra-Jap is universal remedy independent of placement.Some other examples are: Shukr(dara-karak,Vehicles) Lorded by Goddess Laxmi. So worship of Goddess Laxmi will help in getting wife/vehicle/money(2nd-Lord). Goddess Parvati is Deity for moon(mother,happiness). HERworshipwill ensure happiness. Rahu's Deity is Goddess Durga and HER worshiphelpsin problems related to durgam(difficult) forign journey/land/importetc. Ketu indicates end and obstruction/mistakes. Lord Ganesh(Deity ofKetu) isworshipped before starting any thing and every thing to rule out all troubles that may occure in that work.Ketu becomes debilited inMithun.So durva(grass-Budh) is offered to Lord Ganesh. Similarly other matters can be explored for worship. One can choose specific form of LordGaneshbased on sign/house/nakshatr-charan and also the name/Mantra to be recited. While any remedy to make Bhav-Karak strong will give good result,advantage with remedies involving Deities is that they also give blessings of relevent Deities which has its own impact insolving the problem.

Basis of Drishti

Lord Brahma taught Rashi Drishti in circle.
Here is how to see:
(1) Draw a circle.
(2) mark point 1 at 15 degree left to verticle diameter.
(3) mark point 2 at 15 degree right to verticle diameter.
(4) point 1 and 2 will be at the top of circle separated by 30 deg.
These are signs Ar and Ta. Similarly continue to mark all signs at 30deg.
(5) Now as per BPHS,1,2 are in East,3 in SE,4,5 in South,6 in SW,7,8 in West,9 in NW,10,11 in North,12 in NE. These are seen clearly in above construction.
(6) Join 3-9 diameter. Draw 2 parallel lines on both sides of it.So 2-10,1-11,4-8,5-7 are joined.
(7) Similarly repeat with 6-12 diameter to get 5-1,4-2,7-11,8-10.
(8) East can see west and North can see South.
So join them to get12-9,1-8,2-7,3-6 and 3-12,4-11,5-10,6-9.
Now your Rashi-Drishti-Chakr is ready. You can see that each sign isjoined with 3 signs on which it has Rashi-Drishti. Thus Rashi Drishti is due to placement of signs in the sky in specific position.
Example: Consider a person(planet) standing on ground he can see something.Now if he is standing on hill,he will see something else.The person is same but his view has changed due to placement. This is Rashi Drishti.

Now consider a kid and a person. a kid being small,can see only a few things but the person being taller can see more. This is why inferior planets(Sun,Moon,Mercury,Venus) have only 7th aspect while superior planets(Mars,Jupiter,Shani,Rahu,Ketu)have additional aspects. Depending on their duties, they are placed in suitable orbits/inclinations so that they can see houses of their interest. Mars is commander so he has to protect Land(4th)and fight wars(8th). Guru(minister) gives Advice(5th) and tells Dharm(9th).Shani being servent, he has to do work(10th) assigned by boss and communication(3rd). Thus you can see Grah Drishti.

Now a person may see different somethings at different times at same place.eg. Some members read mails of specific persons only even though all mails are there on list.Some members are interested only in reply to their mails. So this will depend on thinking of person. This is seen in NakshatrDrishti.

Benefic/Malefic aspect gives good/bad results.
Different planets have drishti on different Nakshatr.
15th is common.Sun-14,15 Moon-14,15 Mars-1,3,7,8,15 Mercury-1,15
Jupiter-10,15,19 Venus-1,15 Saturn-3,5,15,19
Nakshatr also aspect other nakshatr like Rashi. This is seen in Sarvatobhadr chakr.
I will explain a short method for this.
(1) Draw 9 vertical and 9 horizontal lines.
(2) Ignoring the 4 corners of square,write krittika in top left.
(3) Continue from krittika in clockwise direction and write names ofall Nakshatr including Abhijeet after Uttarashadha.
(4) Nakshatr connected by straight line aspect each other.
This is also called SAPT-SHALAKA-CHAKR. It is used in Muhurtas.
Malefics should not aspect important Nakshatras at the time of Muhurt.
Since all drishties are mutually independent and work togather,they can be considered in all cases. Since BPHS uses only Rashi and Bhav,Drishties based on Nakshatr are not used for interpretation in this book.
Food for thought: A kid can sit on shoulder of person and see morethings.
So when two or more planets are togather,will they aspect more?

Argala

ARGALA means bolt.
Argala means a chain used to tie an elephant.
What is the use of bolt and chain?
They are used to fix door/elephant in proper place.
Argala also does the same thing.It keeps the results fixed.
The house/planet on which Argala operates,has to give itsgood/bad results with certainty.
So what is SHUBH/PAP Argala?
Both have same use.Both fix the results.
Does elephant find any difference if chain is of gold or iron?
It still remains fixed as before.So is result of bhav/grah.
Even though the elephant is not affected,the owner definatelyfeels better with gold chain.
Owner in chart is native.When shubh-Argala is there, he feels happy.
See, Argala(chain) can keep even the strongest animal like elephantfixed.
Similarly Argala can fix the results of all planets even ifthey are in full strength.
You can not divert their results in any way.VIRODH ARGALA is reverse.
we have to do exactly reverse procedureto tie and remove the chain.
So exactly mirror image house causeVirodh Argala.
They unfix or free the results of house/planet sothat they can give any other results/divert the results to othermatters.So virodh Argala can change results from good/bad to bad/good.
As explained earlier,benefics or malefics do not make any differenceto results but the feelings of owner are changed.Now if there is good result of a house/planet and following cases
occure:
(1)it has Papargala: Good results will occure definately but withtroublesrelated to matters of house in which malefic planet causing papargalaisplaced.
(2)it has Shubhargala: Good results will occure definately withhappinessrelated to matters of house in which benefic planet causingshubhargala isplaced.
(3)it has Papa in 2 and 12: Good results will be obstructed withtroubles related to matters of 2nd and 12th house in which maleficplanets are placed.If 2 is stronger than 12 then inspite oftroubles,good resultswill occure. However,malefics in 2/12 cause pap-kartary-yog so it canchange earlier good results into bad ones if dashas/transits are bad.
(4)it has Shubha in 2 and 12: Good results will occure definatelywith happiness related to matters of 2nd and 12th house in whichbenefic planets are placed.If 12th is stronger,then inspite ofhappiness,good results maynot occure. However benefics in 2/12 will cause shubh-kartary-yog soitcan boost good results even if dashas/transits are bad.
(5)it has Shubhargala obstructed by Papargala:Stronger will prevail.Since originally results are good,it will dominate in case ofequality.
(6)it has Papargala obstructed by Shubhargala:Stronger will prevail.Since originally results are good,it will dominate in case ofequality.Argala obstruction will occure only if obstructing planets are in themirror image quarter of the house.
In other words,if argala causingplanet is in 1/2/3/4 quater of house then virodh argala planet must bein 4/3/2/1 quarter of house to obstruct the argala,else there is noobstruction.
More planets means stronger argala/obstruction.
Virodh argala means obstruction but VIPREET ARGALA means forcedsuccess.there should be atleast 2-3 malefics in 3rd house to cause vipreetArgala.
Now if you have understood the meaning of argala(fixing) read it again and you will find everything is very obvious.This is the beauty ofSanskrit.It explains everything just by name.
I would like to remind the story of crocodile(Makar) who captured the footof an elephant.The elephant tried his best along with all his supporters but failed.All his supporters went away helplessly.He finally prayed to GOD. HE came and releived him by killing the crocodile and took both withHIM.They became Jay and Vijay who are door-keepers of Vaikunth.An elephant or Gaj indicates Guru(eg. Gaj-Kesari-yog).Guru is debilited in Makar and no one can rescue him there.Now,consider Makar as argala on Guru.It has fixed results ofGuru.Nothing can free him.Inspite of huge support from all planets, it can not be rescued.What is the remedy? Read Gajendr-Moksh. SHRI HARI WILL COME AND PROTECT.

Jyotish Learning

One should note some points before learning jyotish.
Jyotish and all secrate things are governed by 8th house.
When you perform activities related to some house,that house becomes stronger. So when you do things related to jyotish,8th house becomes stronger.

You know that 8th is a bad house and it can create troubles.
Now 8th is marak for 2nd and 7th house.
So if these houses are weak,strong 8th house can destroy them.
You can check your shadbal and sarvashtakvarg for strength of these houses. Once you decide to learn jyotish,you should take care to make these houses stronger else it can result in troubles.

Similarly check the house for which 8th is Badhak.
You would like to make that house strong too.For char,sthir and dwiswabhav Lagn,10th,2nd and 12th houses are obstructed by 8th house. Similarly you can evaluate virodh-Argala caused by 8th house on 9th,11th,6th house.A strong 8th house will oppose results of these houses. If these results are good, you have to make them stronger.

All these things can be strengthened by
(1)performing activities related to relevent house.
(2)associating and pleasing persons connected to relevent planet.
(3)using objects/colours connected to relevent sign.

This is the reason why elders prohibit learning of these things.
Many times we can not conclude whether the results are good or bad.
In such cases note that strong will give good results and weak will
give bad results.

For example 8th is marak for 7th house when 7th is weak.
If 7th is strong,8th will provide resources by causing Dhan-Argala.Similarly you can also find houses which will give stronger results.If you find that 6th/12th are becoming strong,you may need to take care.

Always remember:
Samarath ko nahi dosh gosai
OR
Pawan jagawat aag ko deepahi det bujhahi
It means that wind will extinguish lamp but will increase fire.
Because lamp is small/weak while fire is big/strong.

I will explain Shree Ram's chart.
Lagn: Kark
Ravi: Mesh
Chandr: Kark
Mangal: Makar
Budh: Vrishabh
Guru: Kark
Shukr: Meen
Shani: Tula(R)
Rahu: Vrishabh
Ketu: Vrischik

Ravi in Mesh will give argala on Mithun,Makar and Meen.
It will obstruct results of Kumbh, Kark and Vrishabh.

It means native will be:
brave and with good friends[Mithun(3rd)-Budh(friends)],
very hard working for masses[Makar(10th)-Shani(masses)]
and will move in good/holy places near water[Meen(12th)-Guru(good)].

Native will be resistant to:
gains/taxes from poor[Kumbh(11th)-Shani(poor)],
emotional disturbances[Kark(4th)-Moon(emotions)]
and second marriage[Vrishabh(2nd)-Shukr(marriage)].

Ravi in 11th from Mithun will form Labh Agala meaning support for matters indicated by Mithun(sign/house/planet) by Kshatriyas/Kings/Brave people resulting in gains due to courage.Exaltation will increase gains withminimum efforts.Mithun is natural 3rd house indicates short journey,hands etc. So such matters are promoted.

In Shree Ram's chart we can see that HE went with sage Vishvamitr on short journey and using Hand operated weapons killed Rakshasas to protect Yagya.Further using hands HE broke Shiv-Dhanush to get Married with Sita. Marriage promoted Mithun(union) too.See How HE was rewarded when HE used HIS courage/hands.

Ravi in 4th from Makar will form Sukh Argala meaning happiness for matters indicated by Makar.Ravi is friendly to moon(Karak for 4th) so it will give blessings of mother to get matters indicated by Makar. Makar is natural 10th house indicating Karmas.It also indicates Agya(order),power,prestige etc.Sun himself is Karak for power so naturally Argala of Sun on Makar promoted this aspect. HIS orders are compulsory even for deities! Shani is karak for service. Budh is not friend for Ravi. This aspect was not promoted.

Ravi in 2nd from Meen will form Dhan Argala meaning resources for matters indicated by Meen.Blessings of family to fulfill Meen related matters.Meen is natural 12th house indicating forign,travelling,legs etc.Ravi is supposed to provide resources for forign travell whose karakaisRahu(enemy to Sun). So it has not given resources and HE went to forest without money etc. However it has not obstructed indications of travel/forign.Meen is Dwiswabhav and Jal Rashi so it indicates both moving and stationary water. Sea is an example of it
[moving water means river = movable water sign Kark,
Fixed water means lake/well/tank = fixed water sign Vrishchik,
eg. hot water running from tap = kark + mangal etc.]

Lord of Meen Guru is friend so Ravi gave HIM good resources forcrossing thesea(Meen) by constructing Bridge(stones) with the help of monkeys(Mesh).Both malefic and benefic promote matters of house/planet/signon which they form Argala.If in places of obstruction both will obstruct those matters. Benefics will do this in good/easy/smooth manner whilemalefic will do it in bad/hard manner. eg. If Mars is causing Argala,it gives fight and then sucsses. If Mars is obstructing then it will give fight but failure regarding house/planet/sign obstructed by it.Similarly Shani can give Success/failure by delaying the matters related to house occupied by him.Budh can do it by talking/debate.I do not agree with Sanjay's view that Argala of Malefic when obstucted by benefics gives good results or Argala of malefics give bad results.

Any planet/sign if causing argala on 11th house will promote gains,on Sun it will promote health, on Mesh, it will promote activeness.Similarly these things will be obstructed if in 3/10/12 houses(Virodh/DushtArgala).If combined effect of Yoga is different,consider yoga results instead of individual grah/bhav/rashi effect and then see Argala or obstruction.Argala will always protect the things indicated by yoga or leave it unaffected. If Yoga results are good,it will promote good. If Yoga results are bad,argala will promote bad results.It does not matter that argala is by benefics or malefics.However aspect can change the results to good or bad.Similarly Virodh Argala will always obstruct what ever good/bad results are indicated by house. In other words if some house is giving bad results then Virodh Argala will obstruct its bad results and they will not befelt.In the same way,it can block good results too.

Mesh is aspecting Simh,Vrishchik and Kumbh by Rashi Drishty. These signs are also aspecting Mesh by Rashi Drishty. Thus there is a parmanent effect of these signs(and houses/planets joining them) on each other.Sun being friendly to Sc,aspect will boost related matters. Simh is owned by Sun. So there is complete protection to Leo matters. Kumbh is enemy's sign so it will be reduced but based on house signification,selective matters whose karkas are friendly to Sun will not be affected.Ravi will aspect Tula from Mesh. Tula is 7th house in Kal-Purush Kundali.It is lorded by Shukr(Karak for wife). So Ravi created a desire for marriage in Sita when SHE was going to temple(Shukr is in 9th house).
Since Sun becomes debilited in Tula,the desire was for complete surrender to HIM. Debilitation shows devotion,politness too. Since Tula is 4thhouse,HE always remained polite/dedicated to HIS mother. Tula has Shani(Lord-A6)in 4th house. HE politly requested Ravan to educate about experiences gained by him.This event occured at the end of enemity when Ravan was dying because Shani is lord of 2nd(Marak) for 6th(enemy). 7th house shos desire ndhence7th aspect also gives desire.

Take another example.Shukr aspects Kanya(6th house-enemy).
Lord Budh is in 11th(gain) with Rahu(cheating).
So a forigner(Rahu) enemy(Ravan)desired to gain HIS wife by cheating.

I hope application of Argala,Rashi Drishti and Grah Drishti is now clear.

Note: We know that Laxman ji was also born during same period.
He was incarnation of Sheshnag so nodes can not be debilited.
So consider HIS Rahu exalted in Vrishabh.

SHREE GANESH

Shree Ganeshji in the form of astrologer is known as Dhundhiraj in Kashi.
